Assoc. Prof. Sirin Apiyasawat is a Cardiologist at Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital, Thailand, specializing in Cardiology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Apiyasawat received her Bachelor’s Degree Doctor of Medicine and First Class Honors from the Faculty of Medicine, Mahidol University, Thailand, in 1998. Dr Kenny Tan is a Consultant Cardiologist at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore, specializing in cardiac implantable electronic devices, conduction system pacing, and electrophysiology. Clin Asst Prof Pung Xuanming is a consultant at the Department of Cardiology at National Heart Centre Singapore. He completed his MBChB from University of Edinburgh in 2014 and obtained membership of Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) in 2018. Assistant Professor Yeo Wee Tiong graduated with the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 2002. He completed Basic Specialist Training in Internal Medicine in 2007. He was concurrently conferred the Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from the National University of Singapore, and Membership at the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) in 2007. Ms Syafiqah has been a cardiac technologist in TTSH Non-Invasive Cardiac Lab for slightly over 12 years. In her role, not only does she performs cardiac ambulatory procedures but also, echocardiogram in diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. She pursued her part time degree Bsc in Biomedical Engineering from SUSS one year into her career – citing it is one of her fruitful stage of her life in being able to build her career as a cardiac technologist in the day and pursuing her interest at night. Ms Syafiqah looks forward to more advancements in cardiac diagnostic testing of cardiovascular disease so that it can serve positive impacts to patients.

Ms Nasreen Begum is a Cardiac Technologist at Changi General Hospital, primarily involved in cardiac procedures. Over the years, she has gained experience supporting patients and assisting in a wide range of cardiac-related procedures, including device implants, device checks, and clinical workflows within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Outside of work, she is an avid cyclist and enjoy cycling as a way to unwind and maintain balance beyond the clinical setting— though she still finds herself paying attention to heart rates even outside work. She is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the HRAS ASM & GP Forum.

Dr Lee Chee Wan is a cardiologist practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. His special interests are cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats), coronary artery disease and hypertension. Dr Lee is highly experienced in performing implantation of cardiac devices (eg. loop recorder, pacemaker, and defibrillator), catheter ablation, and coronary angiograms (imaging tests that use x-rays to see the body’s blood vessels).
Dr Lee is one of the few cardiologists in Singapore with both medical and doctorate degrees. He studied medicine at the University of Sydney under the John Crawford Scholarship Scheme and graduated in 1998 with first class honours. He later completed his postgraduate medical training at the University of Oxford and specialist cardiology training at the University of Cambridge, and also received his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Cardiology.
Dr Lee spent 18 months at the Toronto General Hospital in Canada to advance his skills and know-how in complex cardiac pacing and electrophysiology.
Prior to entering private practice, Dr Lee was a senior consultant and head of the Department of Cardiology at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. He was also the director of the hospital’s Cardiovascular Centre, the lead in pacing and cardiac electrophysiology, and the former director of their Coronary Care Unit.
Dr Lee is a visiting consultant to the National Heart Centre and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, an adjunct assistant professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and clinical teacher at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Dr Thien Lee Karl is a Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist currently practising at Hospital Sultan Idris Shah, Serdang since 2024. Prior to this, Dr Thien completed advanced fellowship training in cardiac electrophysiology at the National Heart Institute (IJN), Kuala Lumpur from 2023 to 2024, following cardiology fellowship training at Sarawak Heart Centre from 2020 to 2023.
Dr Thien obtained the Certificate Cardiac Device Specialist, CCDS (IBHRE) in 2022 and earned the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians, MRCP (UK) in October 2016. Dr Thien graduated with a doctor of medicine from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in 2011 and was the Gold Medalist.
He is actively involved in regional and national electrophysiology societies, Dr Thien currently serves as a Young EP Committee Member of the Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society (APHRS) and Vice-Chairperson of the Malaysian Heart Rhythm Society (MHRS). Dr Pipin Kojodjojo is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Asian Heart and Vascular Centre. Dr Kevin Leong graduated from King’s College London and completed his training in cardiology, electrophysiology, devices and inherited cardiac conditions with the London Deanery at Imperial College Healthcare and Bart’s Health NHS Trusts before his return to Singapore.
In addition to prizes at university and international conferences, he was conferred his PhD by Imperial College London and received the British Heart Rhythm Society Young Investigator of the Year Award for his work. His research interests are in predictive markers of sudden cardiac death, arrhythmias and inherited cardiac conditions.

Prior to private practice, Dr Paul Lim was a senior consultant at the National Heart Centre Singapore and a visiting consultant at the Seng Kang Hospital Singapore. Committed to clinical excellence and service, he garnered multiple Singhealth Service Quality Awards over the course of clinical practice. He has been integral to initiatives ensuring patient safety such as initiation of protocols for safe cardiac implantable device management in patients undergoing radiotherapy, the drive towards medical informatics to promote comprehensive clinical documentation and was a core member in various quality improvement committees.
A dedicated teacher, he was a clinical assistant professor at the Duke-NUS medical school, holding the positions of director of the SingHealth Duke-NUS cardiovascular sciences residency academic clinical programme, and was a core faculty member of Singhealth Duke-NUS cardiology senior residency program and Singhealth internal medicine residency programme. He has been recognised for his mentorship with multiple outstanding Singhealth Residency faculty awards. He continues to serve as an adjunct assistant professor at the Duke-NUS medical school. He has been invited to speak at local, regional and international conferences and has published in various peer reviewed journals. Dr Lim Wei Yao is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist with a special interest in the management of patients with heart rhythm disorders.
He graduated from the University of Glasgow and obtained a first class honours for his BSc and medical degree. He was rank first in the UK national recruitment process and undertook his cardiology training in various prestigious hospitals in London, where he worked with world renowned experts. He undertook his cardiac electrophysiology training in Bart’s Heart Centre, one of the largest cardiovascular units in Europe and spent time in Great Ormond Street Hospital performing ablations and implanting devices in children.
On completion of specialist training, Dr Lim was appointed consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University hospital and was one of the youngest electrophysiologist in the UK. He worked alongside 2 other electrophysiologist and help transformed the service making it the fastest growing EP centre in the country performing close to 900 ablations per annum. After 3.5 years in post, he returned to Singapore in 2024.
Dr Lim is a European Heart Rhythm Association certified electrophysiology specialist and he performs simple and complex catheter ablations using the latest technologies. He is also a specialist in implanting all types of cardiac devices including pacemakers, defibrillators and resynchronisation therapy.
Dr Lim strongly believes in placing his patients at the heart of his approach. He takes time to explain all test and treatment proposed and discusses all alternative options ensuring patients are fully informed and involved in all aspects of their care.

He completed his clinical fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and University of Chicago, United States, and has since been focused on improving the care of patients with complex arrhythmias and cardiac implantable electronic devices. He is currently a Visiting Consultant at National Heart Centre Singapore and concurrently holds an academic position as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. His key interests include sudden cardiac death, genetics of inherited arrhythmias, use of novel pacing and ablation strategies to tackle complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.

Dr Singh graduated from Gahuati Medical College, Guwahati University, India. Subsequently, he did his training in Internal Medicine at Pt BDS Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak (India) and obtained his Master’s Degree in Year 2000. He obtained membership of Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK) in Year 2006. Thereafter, he did his Advanced Specialty Training (AST) in Cardiology at the National University Heart Centre, Singapore. Dr Singh did fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Advanced Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Duke University, North Carolina, USA. He has also completed level 2 training in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging at Duke University, North Carolina, USA.
Dr Singh has keen interests in clinical cardiology, cardiac rhythm disorders (arrhythmia), cardiac pacing (including cardiac resynchronization therapy) and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. He performs electrophysiology study and radiofrequency ablation of cardiac arrhythmias. He also implants pacemakers and defibrillators.

Clin Asst Prof Daniel Chong is a Senior Consultant in Cardiology at National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS), with special training in cardiac implantable electronic devices and electrophysiology. He completed his medical education at the National University of Singapore in 2001. After undergoing further training in Internal Medicine at the National University Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, he completed his postgraduate MRCP(UK) exams during his posting at the Department of Cardiology, NHCS. On successfully completing his Advanced Specialty Training in Cardiology at NHCS, he was sent for further training in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing at Cleveland Clinic, USA which he completed in 2014. Since returning to NHCS, Dr Daniel Chong has performed over a thousand device and cardiac electrophysiology procedures. He has also served in multiple committees. He was appointed Director Residency Programme, SingHealth Duke-NUS Cardiovascular Sciences Academic Clinical Programme from June 2017 to March 2021, and the Director of SAF Cardiac Fitness Centre, National Heart Centre Singapore from March 2019 to December 2021. He was also appointed Head of the Department of Cardiology, NHCS@SKH from January 2022.

Clinical Associate Professor Ching Chi Keong is a Senior Consultant with the Department of Cardiology and the Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing at the National Heart Centre Singapore. His sub-specialty interest is in cardiac electrophysiology and pacing.
Clin Assoc Prof Ching graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 1995. He subsequently obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2001 and the Certificate of Specialist Accreditation (Cardiology) in 2004.
Clin Assoc Prof Ching completed his clinical fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing at the Cleveland Clinic, USA, in 2007. During the fellowship, he acquired competency to perform catheter ablation of complex arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation and tachycardia as well as ventricular tachycardia. He received in-depth training in implantation and the optimisation of pacemakers, internal defibrillators and cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices.
In recognition of his professional and research achievements, Clin Assoc Prof Ching was inducted as a Fellow of the ASEAN Society of Cardiology, Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Singapore), and Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, USA.

Adjunct Associate Professor Seow Swee Chong is a Senior Consultant and the Clinician Mentor of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing at the National University Heart Centre, Singapore (NUHCS).
Adj A/Prof. Seow graduated from the National University of Singapore and subsequently obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom). He completed his Fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing at Westmead Hospital, Sydney (Australia).
Adj A/Prof. Seow’s sub-speciality interests include heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias), pacemaker, loop recorder and cardiac defibrillator implants as well as cardiac resynchronization therapy for heart failure. He runs the Heart failure clinic, concentrating on patients with concomitant arrhythmias and/or cardiac devices.
Adj A/Prof. Seow performs diagnostic coronary angiograms, radiofrequency catheter ablation of arrhythmias, diagnostic electrophysiological studies and implantation of pacemakers as well as defibrillators.

Alden Yao is a Senior Cardiac Physiologist at National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS). He began his Allied Health career in 2012 and now has nearly 10 years’ experience in the field of Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) and Pacing. His deep interest in EP inspired him to be a Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS, IBHRE) as well as to obtain a Graduate Diploma of Cardiac Electrophysiology from the Cardiac Electrophysiology Institute of Australasia (CEPIA). When he’s not working in the EP lab, Alden can be found entertaining his two toddlers (and his cat), and admiring his whisky cabinet.

Jessica is a dedicated Cardiac Technologist at Changi General Hospital (CGH) since October 2022. She earned her degree in Life Sciences with a specialization in Biomedical Science and a minor in Psychology from the National University of Singapore in 2022. Her academic background reflects a deep-seated interest in physiology, which she has pursued through her professional work.
At CGH, Jessica excels in her role by conducting non-invasive cardiac procedures, assisting in the catheterization lab, and performing routine checks on cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs). She also manages remote monitoring of these devices, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and device performance.
Jessica is keen on expanding her knowledge in the management of CIEDs and is enthusiastic about delving deeper into echocardiography and cardiology as a whole. Her dedication to continuous learning and professional development underscores her commitment to advancing her expertise in cardiac care.
